SPIRITUAL TREASURE CHEST; TAKE IT TO THE BANK
When you have been
blessed to become a “Seasoned Senior Citizen” you know that you have been
blessed by God. There is no doubt
in my mind that each of you have witness countless horrifying incidents.
Perhaps you have been involved in a few incidents; and narrowly escaped
death or personal injury. Those
narrow escapes causes wise folks to and say, thank you Jesus;
thank you for saving me, thank you for
protecting me, thank you Jesus for being on by side.
Amen.
Listen, my friends,
you can deposit those experiences of God goodness in your “Spiritual Treasure
Chest” and “TAKE IT TO THE BANK”.
There are far too
many “seasoned people” that God have rescued out of dangerous situations that
will not acknowledge Him as being in total control of our lives.
They won’t give God credit for anything; therefore they have no
testimony of His goodness.
They call their
narrow escapes good luck and say their lucky stars guided them through; they
give no thought of how angels are watching over them day and night;
sent by our loving Father God.
They have no
understanding that they are still here because of God’s “Grace and Mercy”.
Listen, they possess no “Spiritual Treasure Chest” therefore nothing to
“TAKE TO THE BANK”.
Whereas; the wise
understand they are still here, because of God’s promises and His love.
Amen.
So my friends,
whether you are known to be wise or unwise; whether they call you a senior
citizen or a seasoned citizen or simply a baby boomer it really makes no
difference.
We are all children
of God, and are here because of God’s grace.
He alone allows us to stay in life’s race.
It’s by His grace; not the doctor, the baker or the candle stick maker;
it’s by His grace; not the medicine we may take, or the foods we make, it’s by
His grace; not because you are a jolly good fellow that nobody can deny; but
it’s by God’s grace and mercy we’re still in life’s race.”
Amen.
One of the most
disturbing experiences of being a “seasoned citizen” is seeing younger folks who
don’t appreciate or accept the wisdom of seniors.
I don’t have to tell
you, but younger folks tend to think “seasoned people” ideas are old fashion and
not relevant nor applicable for their daily life.
Many younger people
believe it’s a new day; and they must do things their way.
In other words they
are in the driver’s seat now and it’s their turn to drive.
But you and I know
that pit falls awaits them; if they don’t make a u-turn and return to sound
wisdom and the doctrine of our Lord Jesus Christ.
If any young folks
are listen to me today; “we have been there and done that”; in one way or
another.
Ecclesiastes 1: 9.
there is no new thing under the sun.
This is one of the greatest (mysteries) lessons anyone can deposit in
their “Spiritual Treasure Chest” and “TAKE IT TO THE BANK.”
AMEN.
The bible say in
Proverbs 3: 13. Happy is the
man (wo-man) that finds wisdom, and the man that gets understanding. 14.
For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver and
the gain thereof than fine gold. 15.
She is more precious than rubies: and all the things you can desire are
not to be compared to her.16.
Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honor. 17.
Her ways are of pleasant, and all her paths are peace. 18.
She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy is every
one that retains her.
23.
Then shall you walk in the way safely, and your foot shall not
stumble. 24. When you lie down, you
shall not be afraid: yes, you shall lie down, and your sleep shall be sweet.
Is your sleep sweet?
Or are you up at night on your feet?
I have talked lately to many people whose sleep is sour.
Up/down.
Many of these people
thank God for the WUBS playing 24/7.
They can tell you about programs, such as Dr. Sister Wanda at 3am.
So if your sleep is not sweet; please go
back over this scriptural prescription.
This is not our
camping ground; there is better ground ahead.
You walk with me.
Listen, some of
life’s lessons have been ignored and that is very unfortunate, because the
consequences of not learning life’s lessons is to repeat it OVER AND OVER until
finally it is learned. Amen.
How many of you are
repeating a lesson you should have learned the first time around, but you
ignored it? Hello.
But every lesson learned can be tucked
away in our “Spiritual Treasure Chest” and “Take It to the Bank”.
The Jesus tells us
about our treasure.
Matt. 6:19.
Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth
corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
20.
But lay up for your selves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor
rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
21.
For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
For me this carries
with it a practical application.
Listen, I don’t
believe Jesus is talking about laying up your money or other assets in heaven;
but is talking about relationships such as our children, relatives and friends
we have made along life’s journey.
I hope you agree
with Jesus today, that our treasure must be kept safe.
The bible says, we
can put our “Spiritual Treasures” in heaven where rust and moth cannot corrupt
or thieves cannot come in and steal.
This sounds like
something we can work with. We can
make “Spiritual Deposits” in “Heavens Bank” where it will be safe until time of
withdrawal.
My friends, Jesus
would not have told us so, if this was not the case.
How many of you know
that our believing loved ones gone home to be with the Jesus are waiting for us
to come and make our withdrawal. “YOU
CAN TAKE THAT TO THE BANK.”
I’m revealing revelation knowledge today
to those uncertain about the afterlife.
The earth is the Lord's, and the fulness
thereof; the world, and they that dwell
therein. “YOU TAKE THAT TO THE BANK”
Listen my friends, I
don’t mean no harm, but there may be some of your family members expecting you
to have something in the bank for them whenever you make your transition.
I certainly hope you don’t mind me talking like this today; because
seasoned people don’t like talking about their home going.
They don’t want to
be reminded that one day we all gonna have to leave here.
One day we must cross over the Jordan of this life to walk the golden
shores in glory, and the crystal streets of Beulah land.
That day is coming sooner than we like.
“YOU CAN TAKE THAT TO THE BANK”
People around you
may be more interested in your earthly net worth in the than your “Spiritual”
self worth. Anybody still walking
with me in here.
You can prove this
by young folks limited inquiries about the facts of life.
There aren’t many
sitting at your feet discussing how you have managed to survive through the all
pain, heartache and strain, through all the storms of this life.
The sacrifices you made are of little interest.
They are not
concerned about what it took for you to make it up the rough side of the
mountain. Or the times you were
knocked down, but got back up. The
times you had to go through the back, but yet you made it to the front.
But we can’t be
discouraged. The bible says the
wise and “seasoned people” of God imparted blessings on the younger.
As in the case of Israel and the twelve tribes, Noah and his three sons,
Moses and Joshua, Jacob and his two son
Isaac and Esau.
My dear “wise and
seasoned people of God”, we have a wealth of understanding, knowledge and
wisdom; that has come at a very high price, which we will gladly give freely.
But nobody is asking for it.
So here is my
suggestion today.
Put it in our
“SPIRITUAL TREASURE CHEST” and tell them they can “Take It to the Bank”.
This is my point;
this is our camping ground; not only leave tangible assets, but most importantly
“Spiritual Intangibles”, as well.
Listen, “Spiritual
Intangibles” are truths for your “Spiritual Treasure Chest”
God will make a way
somehow -- Even this too shall pass
What goes around come around -- Prayer
changes things -- Jesus Is the Answer
These are timeless
powerful “Spiritual Intangibles” learned through the years and I know you can
deposit many more truths in your own “Spiritual Treasure Chest”.
You may or may not
have a large real estate, or expensive personal property or big money, in your
earthly treasure chest, but you have truths about a name, that name, His name;
that will outweigh and outlast, outclass, anything tangible in this world.
Acts 3:1.
Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of
prayer, being the ninth hour. 2.
And a certain man lame from his mother's womb was carried, whom they laid
daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them
that entered into the temple;
3.
Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms.
4.
And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us.
5.
And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them.
6.
Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I
thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.
7.
And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his
feet and ankle bones received strength.
8. And he leaping up stood, and
walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and
praising God.
9.
And all the people saw him walking and praising God:
That name of “Jesus”
is above every name; every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess that
“Jesus is Lord of Lord and King of Kings.”
Shout Glory.
So in your packet
today you will find “Spiritual Deposit Slips” to fill out
and give folks needing understanding, knowledge and wisdom about life.
Tell them they are powerful timeless
“Spiritual Treasures” to “Take It To The Bank of their heart.”
